Wayne Rooney claims he was faster than Cristiano Ronaldo at Man Utd — and reveals surprise name of second-quickest player

Surprisingly, Wayne Rooney stated that during Manchester United’s training, he was quicker than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Under Sir Alex Ferguson from 2004 to 2009, the two formed one of the most potent offensive pairs in the Premier League, keeping opponents on their toes.
Together, they propelled United to three league championships and a Champions League victory. Ronaldo has long been considered the pinnacle of athletic prowess.

The Portuguese legend has devoted his whole career to staying at the top of his game, from his early days at Old Trafford to his record-breaking years with Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al-Nassr.
He has carefully managed every aspect to maintain his exceptional athleticism long into his forties, from his food and sleep schedule to his workouts in the gym.
While the majority of players in his generation have long since retired, his dedication has allowed him to continue scoring at the highest level.
However, Rooney’s assertion that he outperformed Ronaldo in speed tests during the early stages of their careers provides fresh insight into those early United days. Rooney said that the training ground sprint test results were conclusive.

from The Wayne Rooney Show, he asserted, “We’d done tests at over 30 yards, I think it was, and I was topping that, and Owen Hargreaves was second.” “Owen was faster than most people realise. I was faster than that, so yes, I was.
However, football has many other facets. Ryan Giggs and Cristiano both dribble with the ball quite quickly. Some players appeared to be speedier both with and without the ball.
On his own podcast, Rio Ferdinand had earlier asserted that Hargreaves was among the fastest, saying, “He came into the training ground when he signed, and we done testing, and he blew everyone out of the water.”
We used to do things like 10 and 20 yards, and he won every race, blowing everyone away.” Rooney and Ronaldo’s friendship wasn’t always easy.
Ronaldo’s alleged encouragement of the referee to send out Rooney for a stamp on Ricardo Carvalho during the 2006 World Cup quarterfinal was the infamous flashpoint.
Their friendship was momentarily strained by the incident, but they soon got back together when they got back to Manchester.
Can Cristiano Ronaldo Reach 1000 Career Goals?

Ronaldo’s story is still being written, while Rooney has long since hung up his boots. The 40-year-old celebrity is almost at the remarkable milestone of achieving 1,000 professional goals.
Ronaldo’s goal total now stands at an amazing 950 after he scored in Al-Nassr’s recent 2-0 victory over Al Hazm. In June, he committed to the Saudi powerhouses until 2027 by extending his contract.
Ronaldo will almost certainly surpass the 1,000-goal mark with his current scoring pace. It would make him the most prolific scorer in football history.
In the GOAT argument, Rooney has frequently overlooked Ronaldo in favour of Lionel Messi, but he was ready to support his old teammates in reaching the milestone.
He said, it’s 100% sure “He’s not retired before he’s caused thousands. “It’d be great for him as well if he does that, and I’m sure over the next couple of years he’ll be playing with his son alongside him, so I think that’s a big thing as well for him.”
Despite Ronaldo’s individual prowess, his Al-Nassr team recently took a serious hit when they lost 2-1 to a 10-man Al-Ittihad and were eliminated from the King’s Cup.
Although Ronaldo and his colleagues had a difficult night, the season is far from over.
Al-Nassr is winning the Saudi Pro League under Jorge Jesus’ leadership. With 18 points at the top of the table, they are three points ahead of Al-Taawoun and eight points ahead of Al-Ittihad, the reigning champions who eliminated them from the cup.
Ronaldo will be keen to take the lead and put his team back on track when they play Al Feiha at home on Saturday.
