Top 10 Premier League Stars Who Switched Clubs – Liverpool Lead the Way Over Man United

Us-focused on the Premier League Sometimes, we leave the green and pleasant land to enjoy the football that is available in lower leagues.

They certainly keep a close eye on those who made the poor decision to leave our shores and on prospective Premier League recruits.

Eventually, some of them do pretty well (easier, isn’t it?) and based on how well they have performed for their new teams thus far, we have selected the best ten players who left the Premier League during the summer.

Since we are still in the early stages of our quest for complete football enlightenment, we have only taken into account players from the top five leagues in Europe, or four, if we exclude players who have switched Premier League clubs.

10) Nayef Aguerd ( From West Ham to Marseille for £20m)

After a season-long loan with Real Sociedad, he returned to West Ham to give up 11 goals in three games.

Although that suggests he’s a very fortunate centre-back to have been called up by Marseille, the fact that he gave up just one goal in four games for the Ligue 1 team suggests Aguerd might not have been the issue.

9) Jarell Quansah (Liverpool to Bayer Leverkusen for £30m)

If Richard Hughes and Arne Slot weren’t already feeling bad about selling Quansah this summer after missing the deadline to sign Marc Guehi, Ibrahima Konate’s constant bed-sh*tting since has solidified their regret.

With a goal six minutes into his Leverkusen debut, the 22-year-old has played every minute of nine games across all competitions, keeping his spot in the starting lineup under Kasper Hjulmand following Erik ten Hag’s hilariously short tenure.

With just three goals given up in their four games under the new management, the German team has accumulated ten points. That buyback clause is activated at what precise moment?

8) Matt O’Riley (From Brighton to Marseille On loan)

After starting both of Brighton’s first games and scoring the goal in the 1-1 draw with Fulham, Fabian Hurzeler had stated that he was “100 percent” certain O’Riley would remain at Brighton at the end of the transfer window and that they would be depending on him more this season.

The 24-year-old scored a goal and provided an assist in the most recent of four wins in the four games he has played so far, according to O’Riley, who claimed that a conversation with former Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi convinced him to move to Marseille.

7) Arijanet Muric (From Ipswich to Sassuolo On loan)

Whether Muric has been able to eliminate those brain fades from his game and is now only putting on the incredible performances we saw from him in the Premier League, or whether there is a build-up of catastrophic errors that will arrive in a disastrous cluster at some point during the season, we don’t know.

David Raya (83.3%) is the only Premier League goalie who has a higher save percentage than Muric (82.8%), and his PSxG minus goals allowed score of +3.1 is unmatched by anyone else in the English top flight. The reasonable question would be, “What the f*** is that?” This is what the f*** is.

6) Rasmus Hojlund (From Manchester United to Napoli On loan)

Even we questioned whether Hojlund’s complete lack of value for Manchester United the previous season was due to the fact that he was playing for the team rather than the fact that he was truly worthless, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

We were punishing ourselves after a goal on our debut, a fantastic Proper-Striker brace in the Champions League to defeat Sporting, and the victory over Genoa on Sunday. It was Manchester United’s fault, of course.

5) Tyler Morton (From Liverpool to Lyon On £8.7m)

It’s unfortunate for our ongoing efforts to turn the mini-crisis into a full-fledged one because defensive midfield is essentially the only position on the pitch where we can honestly say Liverpool needs to improve.

Ryan Gravenberch, damn you to hell. If Arne Slot is forced to turn to Wataru Endo as Morton dominates Ligue 1, however, the bellows will be out.

He has immediately established himself as Lyon’s metronome at the foundation of their midfield, scoring the lone goal in their 1-0 victory against Lille last weekend to move them up to fourth place in the standings, one point behind league leaders PSG.

4) Marcus Rashford (From Manchester United to Barcelona On loan)

Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, is amazed by his good fortune. At the end of the season, he and the other Catalan managers are “stunned” that they will be able to complete Rashford’s £26 million “massive bargain” deal.

Rashford has scored three goals, including the incredible brace against Newcastle at St. James’ Park, and claimed five assists to establish himself as a mainstay in Hansi Flick’s starting lineup following that utterly predictable and depressing nonsense about Barcelona wanting to “send Rashford home” after a few games.

3) Luis Diaz (From Liverpool to Bayern Munich For £65.5m)

The only player in the Bundesliga with a higher WhoScored rating than Luis Diaz (8.17) is Harry Kane, his absurd teammate (9.14), and Erling Haaland (7.89) is the top player in the Premier League.

The best forward for Liverpool is Cody Gakpo (7.16). In what, to be honest, doesn’t seem like much of a race for the goalscorer’s canon, Diaz is also second behind Kane (11) with five goals and no one has more than his four assists.

2) Bilal El Khannouss (From Leicester to Stuttgart On loan)

El Khannouss’s efforts for Leicester last season cemented his place in the “there’s something about him” group.

After leaving the Jupiler Pro League at the age of 20, he seemed completely at home in the Premier League and understandably didn’t want to drop to the Championship after proving himself in a major five league.

We fully expect the Premier League elite to come calling again at the end of this season, after a start in which the playmaker has scored three goals in six games.

El Khannouss revealed that Pep Guardiola told him after a Manchester City match against Leicester that “he was impressed with my play.” Arsenal and Tottenham were also linked to him in the summer.

1) Kevin De Bruyne (From Manchester City to Napoli For free)

Nobody questioned De Bruyne’s ability to be an outstanding addition to Napoli.

Antonio Conte was questioned for not starting him for Genoa on Sunday, and his three goals and two assists in eight games isn’t particularly impressive, but his impact off the bench demonstrated how crucial he will be if Napoli is to win back-to-back Scudettos.

Despite reports of an all too expected schism between the two following De Bruyne’s crucial role in Hojlund’s game-winning goal, the notoriouslyabrasive Italian manager stated that “we understand each other perfectly.”
