Two Manchester United transfer choices revealed by merciless Nottingham Forest after baffling £90m decisions

Image
Manchester United’s decision to sell Anthony Elanga for £15m while rating Alejandro Garnacho at £70m illustrates the kind of errors that define their transfer missteps.  Manchester United are terrible at signings. That is no surprise. Their terrible history of post-Ferguson acquisitions is painfully familiar. However, they are arguably inferior in every facet of player sales, and insufficient emphasis is placed on how that disastrous failure has been more persistently harmful than subpar recruitment to their prospects for a significant rebuild.  They have never earned over £100m in a single season from player sales (four Premier League teams achieved this in just one season). They are the sole Premier League club whose highest sale happened prior to 2011. They still consider David Beckham's transfer to Real Madrid in 2003 as their fourth-biggest sale ever, and two players ahead of him – Angel Di Maria and Romelu Lukaku – were sold at a loss compared to their initial signing fe...

Ruben Amorim destroys Man Utd dressing room in heated comments after Brighton loss

Image
After his team's 3-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, Ruben Amorim became so enraged that he damaged the television in the Manchester United dressing room. Amorim acknowledged that his team might be the worst in United's history after United's heartbreaking home loss, which followed days of outstanding performances against Liverpool and Arsenal. As it happens, displeasure was evident behind the scenes as well. The Athletic claims that after the game, Amorim damaged the big TV in United's changing room because he was so upset over the loss.  Amorim reportedly made little effort to conceal his annoyance, launching into a vocal diatribe that was interspersed with screen damage as the head coach scolded his team for what he considered to be a subpar performance. Typically, Amorim is thought to remain silent right after games as he digests the results, but he reportedly stunned several players with a stunning outburst of emotion. After gathering his thoughts for his press...

Enzo Maresca offers a concerning injury update for the Chelsea midfield duo.

Image
After Chelsea's victory over Wolves in the Premier League on Monday night, manager Enzo Maresca provided a worrying injury report regarding the absence of midfielders Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez. With three points that moved them back into the top four of the table, it was a significant win for Chelsea, their first in the league in more than a month. However, because both Fernandez and Lavia were unavailable after the previous game, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who was otherwise out of favor, was given his first Premier League start for the team.  Against Bournemouth, the two had started together in midfield, with Lavia earning his opportunity due to Moises Caicedo's temporary switch to right-back. However, they both developed muscle problems that prevented them from attending Wolves' visit to Stamford Bridge. Lavia is dealing with a more significant issue. The most alarming part, however, is that Maresca acknowledged that there was still no estimated time range for any of the...

Man City Unveils Exciting New Signing Vitor Reis From Palmeiras

Image
Vitor Reis, a center-back for Palmeiras, has officially signed with Manchester City. Reis, 19, has received interest from some of Europe's finest sides but City moved quickly early in the summer window to make the Brazilian a crucial element of their defensive revamp. Recently, Uzbekistan international Abdukodir Khusanov moved from Lens for £33.6 million, and Reis has now followed him, reportedly paying £29.4 million. He told club media, "I'm thrilled to be joining Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world." "Everyone has witnessed the incredible accomplishments in the last few seasons, and as we aim for more trophies, I want to leave my mark. "Every young player aspires to work with Pep Guardiola, and I am confident that he can help me become the best player I can be." "City has considerable experience with Brazilian players, and having Ederson and Savinho in the team will greatly assist me."  Txiki Begiristain, director of footb...

Arsenal and Chelsea are competing for two important strikers.

Image
Prior to the upcoming season, Chelsea is looking to add a striker, and they may compete with Arsenal for at least one of their possible targets to bolster their front line. Although the Blues have made significant progress since the previous campaign, they still do not have a productive "number nine." Diego Costa was the last center forward to score 20 Premier League goals in 2016–17. Nicolas Jackson has nine more points just over halfway through this season after managing a respectable 14 in 2023–2024. But the Senegal international was little involved in Monday night's victory over Wolves at Stamford Bridge and hasn't scored since before Christmas.  According to the Times, Chelsea has already discussed the idea of acquiring the uneasy Renato Veiga with the Serie A powerhouses and is now "considering" Juventus attacker Dusan Vlahovic. With 12 goals across all competitions so far this season, Vlahovic is by far Juventus' leading scorer. Although Randal Ko...

Despite Manchester United's difficulties, Ruben Amorim says he keeps in touch with Sir Alex Ferguson

Image
Since moving to Old Trafford, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that he has kept in touch with the renowned previous manager Sir Alex Ferguson on a regular basis. Ferguson ended his historic reign, which had started in 1986 but notoriously had a rough start, in 2013 after winning his 13th Premier League title. Even after his ambassadorial remuneration was reduced as part of cost-cutting measures, the 83-year-old Scot continues to be a regular director at Old Trafford.  In the nearly twelve years since Ferguson's resignation, Amorim is the sixth permanent manager to be named; the previous five have all failed to meet the expectations.  The soon-to-be 40-year-old Portuguese manager, who is still in the early stages of his career, has indicated a desire to benefit from Ferguson's expertise. "I have multiple conversations with Sir Alex. During yet another difficult weekend for the club, Amorim said BBC Radio 5 Live, "I try to call him to keep bein...

Tottenham Makes Sack Decision On Ange Postecoglou Following Their 12th Premier League Loss.

Image
According to several sources, Tottenham Hotspur does not currently have any plans to replace Ange Postecoglou as manager. In the first half of Sunday's Premier League match, Everton dominated Tottenham, and Postecoglou watched glumly from the touchline. Spurs' decision to play three at the back back backfired spectacularly, as the Toffees, who recently rehired David Moyes for a second stint in charge, were 3-0 up and cruising before halftime at Goodison Park. The second half was improved by switching back to a classic back four, as goals from Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski at least made the scoreline reasonable. However, Spurs were unable to find an equalizer and lost for the 12th time this season in the Premier League.  Despite growing social media pressure on Postecoglou, who has come off as abrasive in recent press conferences and interviews, football.london was the first to disclose that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has no immediate plans to fire the 59-year-old. Crucial de...

Enzo Maresca claims that PGMOL apologized to Chelsea.

Image
After the Blues were denied a penalty earlier this season, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca claims the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) sent a written apology to his team. Before his team's Premier League match against Wolves on Monday night, Maresca told the gathered reporters, "I remember two or three games ago that they didn't whistle for a penalty and then we got a mail apologizing, that it should have been a penalty." "But we don't need apologies." According to The Athletic, Maresca was alluding to Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace in their opening match of 2025, even if the Italian manager did not specify the match.  Cole Palmer's first goal put the Blues ahead 1-0, but Palace's retreating Tyrick Mitchell put Pedro Neto in the box. Mike Dean, a former Premier League official, vehemently disagreed with the ruling, even though the referee and VAR waved away the verdict. "I think Neto's got there first, knocked t...

Premier League: Chelsea vs. Wolves Expected lineup

Image
Chelsea is going through a terrible time at the start of the new year, despite having finally found their rhythm under Enzo Maresca. Chelsea's unexpected losses to Fulham and Ipswich Town at the end of December marked the start of the issues, and the Premier League draws with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth barely raised spirits. On Monday night, they have the opportunity to regain their form against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Although Chelsea does not currently have a large injury list, Enzo Maresca has issued a warning that Romeo Lavia, Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, and Levi Colwill are all questionable for Wolves' visit. Despite the fact that none of the four trained on Friday, the Italian acknowledged that they are still eligible to play. This is Chelsea's expected lineup versus Wolves. Chelsea's expected lineup at Wolves [4-2-3-1] GK: Robert Sanchez – Sanchez appears to still have Maresca's support despite his many errors. During the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth midwe...

GUNNERS VS CITIZEN: Arsenal & Man City Battle for Wonderkid Dubbed 'Next Odegaard

Image
Sverre Nypan, a teenager from Rosenborg, is apparently a target for both Manchester City and Arsenal. As expected, the Norwegian sensation has drawn comparisons to his countryman Martin Odegaard, who similarly attracted attention in his country's top division as a teenager before joining Real Madrid and then Arsenal. Despite only turning 18 in December, Nypan has been capped at the under-21 level and is yet to play alongside the Gunners captain for Norway's senior team. During the 2024 season, Nypan was an uncontested mainstay in Rosenborg's midfield. He finished with an incredible eight goals, which only one of his teammates could surpass, and seven assists, earning him the title of Best Young Player in Norway's top division.  According to the Telegraph, Arsenal is interested in the daring teenager, while TV2 in Norway says Manchester City is considering the midfield player, who is said to be worth between £10 and 11 million. Since making his top-flight debut for Rosen...

Ruben Amorim: Man Utd's suffering will not end

Image
The players and fans of Manchester United will continue to suffer until the conclusion of the season, according to Ruben Amorim. United's 3-1 loss at Brighton & Hove Albion was their fourth away loss under Amorim's leadership and their sixth home Premier League loss of the year. In his post-match media obligations, the Portuguese manager did not mince words when he implied that United's current team might be the worst in the team's 147-year history. He also reiterated that he will not change his beliefs and strategies in an attempt to make things better, warning that more suffering might be in store for all parties involved. "I can see that clearly.  When asked if it was time to change the way he saw the game, Amorim responded, "With me, it's clear I'm not going to change the way I see the game." "I make that extremely apparent. Both the players and the supporters will suffer as a result. I apologize, but I only have one method. "Eve...
