Lamine Yamal refuses Real Madrid star as controversial exit ignites Spain-Barcelona clash

The unusual circumstance that led to Barcelona player Lamine Yamal’s release from international service has been addressed by Spain’s head coach, Luis de la Fuente.

Yamal and Barcelona neglected to inform Spain’s medical staff that the 18-year-old had received radiofrequency treatment for a recurring groin problem, which has now prevented him from playing during the international break.

Just three days after being called up to De la Fuente’s most recent team on November 7 for their World Cup qualifiers, Yamal was freed from Spain duty.

Honestly, it’s a tricky situation because the youngster’s health must come first, but the timing highlights communication issues that can easily create tension between clubs and national teams.

At 18, Yamal is already a key talent, and fans will be watching closely to see how quickly he bounces back.

Prior to the games against Georgia and Turkey, Barcelona reportedly only told Spain about the process at 10:40 p.m., hours after the team was supposed to report for duty.

“It doesn’t seem very normal to me,” De la Fuentes stated in an interview with RNE. “I’ve never encountered anything like this. We must realise that these are processes that take place outside of the national team’s control.

“You don’t have any news or know any details, they tell you, and in health matters, one is left surprised,” he continued. “I was surprised like everyone else.”

“The Medical Services of the RFEF wish to express their surprise and discomfort after learning at 13:47 on Monday, November 10, the day of the official training camp with the national team, that player Lamine Yamal had undergone an invasive radiofrequency procedure for the treatment of his pubic discomfort that same morning,” the Spanish FA said in a statement on the subject on Tuesday.

“This procedure was performed without prior notification to the National Team’s medical staff, and the details were only known through a report received at 22:40 last night, which indicated the medical recommendation of rest for seven to ten days.”

The Royal Spanish Football Federation has decided to remove the athlete from the current call-up in light of the circumstances, always putting the player’s health, safety, and well-being first.

“We are confident that he will recover well and wish him a speedy and full recovery.”

According to reports in Spain, the most recent problem has sparked a “war” between Barcelona and the Spanish national team, with Hansi Flick earlier venting his annoyance about Yamal’s excessive playing time for his country.

“Lamine goes to the national team with pain, didn’t train, and had painkillers to play,” Flick stated earlier this season. “He played 79 and 73 minutes, and they were up three goals in each game.”

He didn’t train in between the games. Players are not being taken care of by this. Spain’s team is the greatest in the world, and they excel in every position. I am therefore really depressed about this.

Yamal “wants nothing to do with” Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal, according to Spanish publications, which will make it more difficult for La Roja manager De la Fuentes.

Following their El Clasico match, Carvajal made hand gestures to the Barcelona star, and Yamal went up to shake his hand.

Yamal’s pre-match remarks against Real Madrid had irritated the team’s players, and now the young Barcelona player does not desire a relationship with Carvajal.

“Since then, the relationship between the two players has been frozen,” the article continued. No discussions or attempts at reconciliation have taken place.

So far, there have been no discussions or attempts to mend things between Lamine Yamal and Dani Carvajal. He has decided to distance himself completely from the Real Madrid captain, both on and off the pitch.

He feels Carvajal’s behavior fell short of what’s expected from a team leader, arguing that any disciplinary conversation should have happened privately in the tunnel rather than in front of the cameras.

In Yamal’s view, Carvajal’s actions were purely for show. Honestly, it’s a strong stance from such a young player, and it shows he values professionalism and respect over theatrics, even when dealing with senior teammates.
