David Ornstein Reveals Man Utd’s Next Step on Ruben Amorim Sack as Top Candidate Ruled Out

Despite his insistence that Manchester United has no immediate plans to fire Ruben Amorim, David Ornstein has exposed the one urgent transfer problem that the team failed to resolve in the summer, which is now largely blamed for their current season’s difficulties.

With three losses in their first six Premier League games this season, the Red Devils are now at fourteenth in the league’s standings. Amorim is under more pressure now than ever after losing to Brentford last weekend.

He enters Saturday’s match against Sunderland determined to avoid losing to Manchester United for the third consecutive game.

Because of their difficulties, as well as the fact that Amorim is overseeing the worst record of any United manager since World War II, rumours of their dismissal have increased dramatically in recent days, with the club reportedly already compiling a shortlist of possible successors.

But according to reliable journalist Ornstein, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United’s co-owner, has no intention of firing the 40-year-old anytime soon and claims that only a crushing home loss to the Black Cats will bring about a change.

Ornstein began on NBC Sports Soccer by saying, “Ruben Amorim is under a lot of pressure, but I think most of that pressure is applied on him by himself, as well as the burden of being Manchester United manager.”

However, as far as I can tell, Manchester United does not intend to fire him. They have no plans to do so, and I don’t believe he’s going to abandon this final season. “I believe the strain is really getting to him.

According to the folks I spoke to, he was doubting his ability to succeed there. However, I believe that they perceive some progress, even if it is little, thus far this season, particularly with some of the new players.

It’s still very early, but the main player here is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who owns a minority stake but has sports authority. He is very much invested in wanting him to be successful.

Since they effectively hired him and put a lot of faith in him and his approach, “Omar Berrada as chief executive, Jason Wilcox as technical director, basically the sporting director… there’s a lot riding on this decision for them.”

Gareth Southgate was mentioned by TEAMtalk earlier this week as a name that can be ruled out nevertheless, and Ornstein has now verified this as well.

Despite monitoring the market, Ornstein maintains that United has not compiled a list of possible replacements. People have discussed shortlists.

There isn’t a shortlist to replace him that I’m aware of. In the event that a position becomes available, I can be sure that Gareth Southgate will not be considered for it.

Of course, Manchester United will always be considering options like every other club and aware of the markets, whether it be on a short-term, long-term, or even after the World Cup in the summer of 2026.

Ornstein gave a straightforward message for Amorim about what he must do to save himself. “The outcomes must be improved.

I believe they would want to give him more time, but we can’t avoid that and we are aware of how this industry functions.

There is absolutely no assurance that they would fire him if they lose to Sunderland, and I doubt they would, provided the loss wasn’t too serious.

It might be a more accurate test for them to play several games after the international break and before the November international break.

The cost of firing him would undoubtedly be high, but I don’t believe that money will play a major role in this choice. The decision will be based on their observations from a football standpoint.

Ornstein acknowledges that United made a significant mistake this summer by failing to recruit a quality holding midfielder, which has contributed significantly to their recent bad performance, he also maintains that the players support the manager despite their subpar performance.

Despite of their dismal performance, Ornstein maintains that the players support the manager.

He acknowledges that United made a significant mistake this summer by failing to recruit a quality holding midfielder, which has contributed significantly to their recent slump.

According to Ornstein, “the players are primarily with him.” They support his work, but they also acknowledge that, once they see the end result, they are no longer carrying out his instructions, which may be a psychological and mental health problem.

There is a lot of conjecture on the system he is using. That, in my opinion, is not the fundamental problem; rather, it is the necessity for number six, which was possibly more urgent than number nine during the summer and will continue to be on the agenda.

As WANDERLUSTSPORT is aware, United is monitoring the market for possible successors in case a separation becomes required, just like any other well-run team.

Recent Man Utd news: De Zerbi praises Amorim for choking at the formation change accusation

Former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is the name that sources have stated would be considered to replace the Portuguese.

The board’s opinions regarding the Italian, who relocated to Marseille in the summer of 2024, have been made public by our writer Dean Jones.

In other news, the Red Devils have been instructed to bring back a club veteran who is now without a managerial position as they get ready for their match against Sunderland.

Although he now has a position, one of Europe’s most intriguing managers is willing to lead Manchester United. A commentator has evaluated his style of play and cautioned Sir Jim Ratcliffe against employing him.

The 40-year-old’s wife has also shared insight into Amorim’s troubles, and the Portuguese player is said to have stunk at ideas that he should switch back to a 4-3-3 configuration.
