Conflicting Reports on Michael Olise’s Liverpool Move as Bayern Munich Launch Surprise Counter Bid

Despite rumours that Liverpool is prepared to break their transfer record to sign their prized talent, Michael Olise, Bayern Munich officials are adamant they have no concerns about losing him anytime soon.

However, new reports have raised the possibility of a move to Merseyside following a significant Real Madrid update.

Under Arne Slot, the Premier League winners are focussing on the next stage of their reconstruction, which includes the incredibly difficult chore of figuring out how to eventually replace ageing players Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah.

Even though the two recently signed new contracts that would keep them at Anfield until 2027, Liverpool is already compiling a list of players who could eventually replace them in the starting lineup.

Speculation over who the Reds could choose to replace Salah’s enormous shoes has increased because a transfer journalist recently asserted that Liverpool is at the “endgame” with the player and that his departure could be approved before his contract expires in 2027.

And one name that has gained a lot of attention recently is Olise, a French player who has improved since joining the Bundesliga powerhouses and leaving Crystal Palace.

According to reports, the Reds are prepared to break their transfer record once more in order to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield in 2026 after he had an outstanding 54 G/A (25 goals, 29 assists) from 65 games for Bayern.

While Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail has discussed Liverpool’s prospects of landing a big-ticket deal more on that later, reliable German journalist Christian Falk is adamant that Bayern does not fear losing the star and that they actually have the funds to launch the ideal counterattack by making Olise an offer.

Falk told CFBayernInsider that despite connections to Premier League teams like Manchester City and Liverpool, Bayern is not concerned about Michael Olise’s future.

“The fact that Premier League teams didn’t try to sign Olise last summer is unbelievable to everyone at Bayern Munich. Bayern had an easier time because it was only Newcastle.

They could tell the Frenchman, “Come to Munich, you can win the Champions League here.”

Lewis Steele believes Olise can be signed by Liverpool

“Now, he has a contract which is long enough that they don’t have to sell next summer – and they won’t sell,” Falk continued when discussing a potential new contract at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich’s main issue is that they want to offer him a new contract, which may be risky if Liverpool and Manchester City are present and everyone is vying for this elite player.

There is some room to offer him more because he now makes €14 million [£12.2 million] a year, or about £234,000 per week. Although interested clubs will pay a high transfer fee for this type of player, Bayern Munich wants to sign him to a new deal as soon as possible.

However, since his current contract expires in 2029, they must see if they can hold onto Michael Olise until then. Falk is well-versed in the Bundesliga and has a history of revealing significant information about Bayern Munich.

But his remarks, which include a major “watch this space” tease about the Reds’ attempts to get the 10-time France cap to Anfield, are completely at odds with what Steele is covering for the Daily Mail.

Last week, Steele wrote for the Mail, “Yes, there is a chance.” “Olise, the forward for Bayern Munich, is definitely someone to keep an eye on for next summer, even though that is all that Confidential has said thus far.” In the summer, “Olise could definitely be an option,” he continued.

Be mindful of this area. Despite earlier reports, Olise’s chances of moving to Merseyside have risen in recent days because to rumours that Real Madrid is not genuinely interested in signing him.

Olise is one of three names Liverpool is considering as Salah’s replacement, according to transfer journalist Graeme Bailey. Bailey recently stated, “I’m not sure he’s ready to leave, but Olivia is talking about a new deal at Bayern right now.”

He will be on the agenda of numerous teams, similar to Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue, who have both been connected to Liverpool.

“They are aware of who is out there, and it would be shocking if they weren’t considered for Olise if and when he becomes available.”

Although Slot would love to work with Olise and he is admired, sources have informed us that it appears to be very difficult for him to leave Bayern next summer.

Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth, who has been playing well for the Cherries this season, is therefore viewed as a much more attractive alternative, and the Reds have a secret weapon in any future discussions.

The leaders of Bayern Munich are confident in constructing around their star player

Meanwhile, two Bayern Munich executives expressed their confidence in retaining Olise past next summer in interviews they gave last week.

Sporting director Christoph Freund explained why they believe Olise will have a long and successful career with them in the Bundesliga in an interview with Sky Germany’s Sky90 podcast. “There is no pressure on us,” Freund said.

We can envision him spending the next seven, eight, or nine years as a Bayern player. “Michael has a long-term contract; he demonstrated his abilities and made progress.”

Max Eberl, director of sport at Bayern Munich, reiterated those remarks when he told BILD that he believes the former Reading player is “shaping the future of their team” and that he wants to sign the player to a new contract.

He stated that he still had more than three and a half years remaining on his deal. “If it’s up to us, he will become a more important component of FC Bayern’s game and help to shape this team’s future; the longer, the better.”

“We at FC Bayern were convinced that he is exactly the kind of player who will significantly contribute to our success in the coming years,” he continued. “The signing of Michael Olise was based on a very strong conviction on both sides.” Michael was also persuaded by our sporty concept.

Some recent reports stated recently, Liverpool is prepared to make a serious deal for defender Dayot Upamecano, making Olise not the only Bayern Munich star they are pursuing.

According to three sources, Arne Slot intends to make Fabrizio Romano a “bomb” addition, with the Reds “becoming serious” competitors.

According to reports, Liverpool has also had fruitful discussions about bringing a prominent Borussia Dortmund player to Anfield.

However, a German source has disclosed that the player could prefer a move to Real Madrid instead, and his remarks over his future have come to light.

After the Liverpool striker’s first complete 90-minute appearance of the season, the Swedish media unanimously agreed that Alexander Isak’s role in an open-goal miss elicited jeers on Friday night.
