Liverpool £70m bid sparks Premier League star’s January exit request

Reports suggest that Antoine Semenyo, a player targeted by Liverpool, requested to leave Bournemouth during the January transfer window after the Reds expressed interest.
At the time, Arne Slot’s reigning champions were struggling, having lost five of their first eleven Premier League matches, which was well below their own high standards.
Liverpool had started the season strongly, winning their first five games, creating the impression that everything was on track. But since then, they’ve stumbled, losing five of their last six league fixtures.
But seriously, it’s a reminder of how quickly momentum can shift in football, even the most promising starts don’t guarantee a smooth ride through a grueling season.
Although Mohamed Salah and a few of his teammates have not been playing at their best this season, scoring hasn’t really been an issue for the Reds.
However, there are speculations that Liverpool may look to bolster their weak defence by acquiring a centre back and a new winger.

According to a rumour from last week, the Reds are “preparing a €80m (£70m) offer to sign” Semenyo, a versatile player from Bournemouth, during the January transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer analyst, said last week that it was “extremely unlikely” that Bournemouth would permit Semenyo to depart in the midst of the campaign.
“I don’t think it is going to be a mid-season departure, I don’t think it is going to be with Liverpool,” Romano stated on GiveMeSport’s Market podcast.

“I believe Liverpool’s January window will be quite quiet. It can be different in the summer. Let Bournemouth enjoy the player; I still want to show them respect. They do not intend for him to depart in January, and it is still November.
“It is an extremely intriguing situation, but I believe it is until the summer window because there is a release clause and a lot of interest in the player. It is highly unlikely for January.
However, according to a trustworthy X account with 684k followers called indykaila News, Semenyo has now asked to depart Bournemouth for the winter.
Indykaila News claims that it is “exclusive.” In January, Antoine Semenyo requested to leave Bournemouth.
Chris Waddle, a former winger for Newcastle United and England, believes Semenyo is currently “the best” winger in the Premier League.
“Antoine Semenyo, the winger at Bournemouth, is definitely the best [in the Premier League] right now,” Waddle recently stated. “Semenyo scores solid goals, is optimistic, and is a skilled goal scorer.

The moment he gets the ball, he immediately charges at defenders, looking to make an impact. In my own view, I think Bournemouth will struggle to hold onto him for long.
He’s arguably the best winger in the country right now, brimming with raw talent and confidence.
Watching him play, you can see why bigger clubs are circling, his pace, skill, and vision make him a constant threat, and it feels like only a matter of time before he moves to a top side.
“People might wonder why someone would want to join Manchester United at this time, but they’re still a big club and will improve in the future.
Semenyo could play exactly like he does for Bournemouth and be perfect for United if he moved there.
“He has the ability to linkup well with Matheus Cunha, and alongside Benjamin Sesko, they could really start to shine.
With Bruno Fernandes orchestrating from behind, you can already picture a solid, cohesive team forming. There’s still plenty of work to do, but the potential is obvious.
He would be a brilliant signing, exactly the type of player United fans would get excited about, though it’s clear he would come with a significant price tag.
Personally, I think bringing in someone like this could give their attack the spark it has been missing for a while.”
