Rio Ferdinand shares his prediction for the crucial Champions League match between Arsenal and ‘mystic’ Real Madrid

Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has shared his forecast as Arsenal takes on Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.  The Gunners’ hopes of winning the Premier League are nearly finished as Mikel Arteta’s team trails 13 points behind leaders Liverpool before their last six games of the season.  Arsenal is now focused entirely on securing the Champions League, with Arteta's team creating an excellent opportunity to make it to the semi-finals.  Two stunning free-kicks from Declan Rice and a goal from Mikel Merino resulted in Arsenal defeating Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg as they travel to the Bernabeu on Wednesday.  Ferdinand remarked on his YouTube channel: “If Madrid gets the first goal and there’s about thirty minutes left… rah! My backside will be voicing for you all [Arsenal]!  “I believe Arsenal will advance, believe me.” I do. I believe it will be excessive. I believe Arsenal will advance. I believe they have excessive...

Ornstein discloses two players Liverpool intends to acquire while identifying six Reds players with ‘uncertain’ futures

David Ornstein from The Athletic has mentioned two players that Liverpool intends to sign when the summer transfer window begins.

Arne Slot’s beginning as Reds manager couldn't have gone much better, as Liverpool is on track to claim their 20th English top-tier title.

Their 2-1 victory against West Ham on Sunday increased their advantage over second-placed Arsenal to 13 points, and it would require an extraordinary decline from Liverpool for the Gunners to re-enter the title race at this point.

Liverpool can now anticipate the summer and the players they will be signing following Mohamed Salah’s decision to extend his contract last week.

Virgil van Dijk is anticipated to join in the next few days, and Ornstein has disclosed a few names that might accompany the Liverpool captain and Salah at Anfield next season.

Ornstein informed NBC Sports on Sunday: “This summer is set to be extremely active with recruiting.”

“I believe they are considering Dean Huijsen, the center-back at Bournemouth, along with Milos Kerkez, the left-back at Bournemouth.” Maybe a forward with Darwin Nunez anticipated to depart too.

One player who is still expected to depart Liverpool this summer is Trent Alexander-Arnold, as the academy graduate is poised to sign with Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Discussing other players facing "uncertainty" about their future at the club, Ornstein mentioned: "The uncertainty surrounding Ibrahima Konate, who enters the final 12 months of his contract, remains with no progress on those terms."

“What will occur with Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Joe Gomez, and even Luis Diaz, who is nearing the last two years of his contract, needs to be addressed.”

Ornstein stated: “Trent Alexander-Arnold's situation is different.” It is anticipated that he will depart for Real Madrid as a free agent at the conclusion of the season.

“Maybe there’s some criticism for Liverpool and FSG regarding the timing of their approach for a younger player who has developed within the system at Anfield.”

Ornstein mentioned during a Q&A with The Athletic: “I have come to realize that Liverpool is one of the clubs showing strong interest in Dean Huijsen.” This has been documented in other places and is correct. Chelsea have shown interest, and Arsenal are involved as well.

Currently, those might be the three main contenders, but they aren't the only ones, as Newcastle and Tottenham are also interested. I think they have all participated in discussions or meetings with Huijsen’s camp over the past week, but I’m not informed of any offers being presented so far, leaving the path forward uncertain.

“It is widely known that Real Madrid was very appealing to Huijsen during his childhood, and they are fond of him, but I’m not aware of any active efforts from them; thus, as of now, it seems most likely he will sign with a different Premier League club.”

"I believe both Bournemouth and the player want this situation resolved as soon as possible." The £50m release clause allows for a straightforward and possibly fast transaction, a situation we've witnessed Liverpool take advantage of previously.
