Two Manchester United transfer choices revealed by merciless Nottingham Forest after baffling £90m decisions

Manchester United’s decision to sell Anthony Elanga for £15m while rating Alejandro Garnacho at £70m illustrates the kind of errors that define their transfer missteps.  Manchester United are terrible at signings. That is no surprise. Their terrible history of post-Ferguson acquisitions is painfully familiar. However, they are arguably inferior in every facet of player sales, and insufficient emphasis is placed on how that disastrous failure has been more persistently harmful than subpar recruitment to their prospects for a significant rebuild.  They have never earned over £100m in a single season from player sales (four Premier League teams achieved this in just one season). They are the sole Premier League club whose highest sale happened prior to 2011. They still consider David Beckham's transfer to Real Madrid in 2003 as their fourth-biggest sale ever, and two players ahead of him – Angel Di Maria and Romelu Lukaku – were sold at a loss compared to their initial signing fe...

Nicolas Jackson: Enzo Maresca provides possible return timeline for injured Chelsea forward

• Jackson suffered a hamstring injury in early February.

• Forward close to potential comeback with winger Noni Madueke.

• Reece James returns to training in preparation for the second leg of the Conference League.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has expressed his belief that striker Nicolas Jackson will be ready to play again following the March international break.

Jackson suffered a hamstring issue in early February, and the Blues have faced difficulties scoring without him, as an injury to third-leading scorer Noni Madueke coincided with a decline in form from key player Cole Palmer.

Chelsea might not have to endure much longer without Jackson, as Maresca mentioned in a press conference on Wednesday that the Senegal international is expected to come back after the international break along with Madueke.

"He might return, likely following the international break," Maresca stated, "Both he and Noni as well."

"This is positive information." Prior to the international break, we have two matches - one tomorrow and one on Sunday - after which we'll have the break to regain energy, recuperate players, and then aim for the final stretch of the season.

Chelsea will take on Copenhagen in the second leg of their Conference League last 16 on Thursday, aiming to secure their spot in the next round following a 2-1 victory in the first leg, before a significant match against Arsenal leads the Blues into the international break.

Jackson and Madueke are aiming to return for the London derby versus Tottenham Hotspur on April 3.

In the meantime, Reece James has resumed training after being absent from the weekend's win against Leicester City due to a sickness bug that affected the dressing room. Cole Palmer competed while unwell against the Foxes, and it is thought that Christopher Nkunku has been affected by illness recently; however, all three are now participating with the team again.
