Postecoglou nearing departure after poor Spurs hand Chelsea a ‘catalyst’ with £5m Sancho decision enticing

Ange Postecoglou appears to be in a dire situation, as the Europa League rescue seems improbable following Spurs’ absence against Chelsea, who ought to cover the costs for sending Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United...  Chelsea's lackluster display against Arsenal raised doubts about their desire to win, as Enzo Maresca's team seemingly let their London competitors secure a comfortable victory.  This poor performance resulted in Chelsea having the same points total as Manchester United since their pursuit of the Premier League title began to fade in mid-December.  During this period, Spurs have fared even worse since only Championship-bound Southampton, Leicester City, and Ipswich Town have garnered fewer points in 2025 than Postecoglou’s team in the Premier League.  Tottenham’s injury issues are a relevant factor, but even their makeshift squad has significantly underachieved and failed to show up in far too many matches this season.  Their injury concerns h...

Cristiano Ronaldo advises star to join Man Utd before 'huge transfer window'

Reports indicate that ex-Man Utd forward Cristiano Ronaldo has advised Sporting CP winger Francisco Trincao to transfer to Old Trafford this summer.

The Red Devils are enduring a poor season, as Ruben Amorim’s team is placed 13th in the Premier League standings after defeating Leicester City 3-0 prior to the international break.

Man Utd dismissed Erik ten Hag at the end of October to hire Amorim from Sporting CP in a bid to quickly improve the club’s situation.

It hasn't occurred yet because the Red Devils' manager has faced difficulties getting the Man Utd team to adjust to his playing style, philosophy, and tactics.

Amorim is hoping that Man Utd will assist him in the approaching transfer market as he aims to acquire players that fit his system.

And where could one look more suitably than at Sporting, where Amorim’s strategies bore fruit as he achieved significant success for the Portuguese club, with Trincao believed to be a primary target at Old Trafford.

Trincao scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in 26 matches in Portugal's top league, and a report on Wednesday stated that Man Utd is ‘prepared to propose’ approximately £33m to acquire the 25-year-old during the summer.

However, another report earlier on Friday stated that Sporting is ‘intent on retaining Trincao’ and Manchester United may ultimately need to pay as much as £70m to secure his release from the Portuguese club.

An exclusive from United In Focus indicates that their likelihood of acquiring the winger has increased, with the report stating that Man Utd ‘are preparing for a blockbuster summer transfer window’ and Ronaldo has ‘advised’ international teammate Trincao to ‘join Old Trafford’.

According to the report:

United in Focus reports, following a conversation with transfer expert Graeme Bailey, that Francisco Trincao has been encouraged to join United this summer.

It is evident now that Trincao has been informed that a transfer to Manchester United suits him well.

We know that both Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have openly spoken about the benefits of a transfer to Old Trafford to their colleague from the national team, and we can also disclose that Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested the transfer to the ex-Barcelona prodigy.

Ronaldo netted 118 goals in 292 matches in his initial stint at Old Trafford, and ex-Red Devils forward Louis Saha claims it was a “privilege” to see the Portugal star and Wayne Rooney develop into elite talents.

Saha shared with Genting Casino: "I was fortunate to witness those two well-known figures approaching the sidelines and felt utterly captivated by their football." It was delightful to witness. I truly sensed that I could gain knowledge from them.

“I sensed they gained insights from me, and I say this humbly; I truly appreciated witnessing their journey afterward, as it illustrates how much one can develop both as players and as individuals.”

"Given the weight of responsibility on those two, it was significant because they were, and at 19, they turned into adults representing their nation at the highest level."

"Massive, massive stars at the age of 20." It's massive. Right away, I could tell that since I observed those players every week and day at practice, even on their off days. The level of commitment they possess for their sport is incredible.
