• Chelsea intend to execute a significant team revamp this summer.
• The Blues have finalized agreements for two new acquisitions.
• A report has identified two Chelsea players who might exit the club.
Chelsea intend to offload up to eight players in a hectic summer transfer window, with one report identifying two of those listed for sale.
The Blues have made two agreements ten weeks ahead of the window's opening. The Portuguese duo of Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo from Sporting CP have both been acquired. Although Quenda will stay in Lisbon for the next season, Essugo is expected to join a Chelsea team that is likely to experience significant changes.
Enzo Maresca's team is planning a significant revamp this summer, with Fabrizio Romano stating that "seven or eight" players are anticipated to depart. The report identifies Kepa Arrizabalaga and Axel Disasi as two examples of individuals expected to be leaving.
The previously mentioned pair is presently loaned to other Premier League teams. Kepa has not appeared for Chelsea since May 2023, and it has been over two years since he last recorded a clean sheet for the Blues. Following a varied period with Real Madrid last season, Kepa has secured his position as Bournemouth's first-choice goalkeeper.
Disasi recently captained Chelsea as of December, but then moved to Aston Villa on loan at the close of the winter transfer window. In just three weeks, the French defender has already begun four Premier League matches for Villa, matching the number he was given at Chelsea in the initial six months of the season.
It is yet to be determined if Bournemouth and Villa will be the teams that acquire Kepa and Disasi - even though both have performed quite well during their individual loan periods.
Jadon Sancho's future is now less assured than previously thought, and Chelsea's two main goalkeepers, Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, may be sold following extremely disappointing seasons.
Enzo Fernandez has reportedly been associated with a transfer, yet Chelsea seems determined to resist Real Madrid's alleged interest.
It won't just be a summer filled with sales for the Blues. Maresca's team is pursuing a new forward and winger to strengthen an offense that continues to depend on Cole Palmer. After a decline in performance for the influential playmaker, Chelsea have been surpassed in scoring by 13th-positioned Tottenham Hotspur in the league this season.
