Two Manchester United transfer choices revealed by merciless Nottingham Forest after baffling £90m decisions

Manchester United’s decision to sell Anthony Elanga for £15m while rating Alejandro Garnacho at £70m illustrates the kind of errors that define their transfer missteps.  Manchester United are terrible at signings. That is no surprise. Their terrible history of post-Ferguson acquisitions is painfully familiar. However, they are arguably inferior in every facet of player sales, and insufficient emphasis is placed on how that disastrous failure has been more persistently harmful than subpar recruitment to their prospects for a significant rebuild.  They have never earned over £100m in a single season from player sales (four Premier League teams achieved this in just one season). They are the sole Premier League club whose highest sale happened prior to 2011. They still consider David Beckham's transfer to Real Madrid in 2003 as their fourth-biggest sale ever, and two players ahead of him – Angel Di Maria and Romelu Lukaku – were sold at a loss compared to their initial signing fe...

Jude Bellingham sends message to Real Madrid opponents regarding Kylian Mbappe's performance

• Kylian Mbappe scored a remarkable hat-trick to secure a 3-1 victory against Man City.

• The Frenchman has decisively recovered from a disappointing beginning.

• Jude Bellingham enthusiastic about the future with new teammate

Jude Bellingham has stated that Kylian Mbappe is currently "soaring" at Real Madrid, cautioning teams throughout Europe that they will find it difficult to contain the French star.

Following his notable free transfer to Madrid in the summer, Mbappe experienced a notoriously poor beginning to his time in Spain but, after reaching "rock bottom" with several missed penalties in December, has returned to his brilliant form in 2025.

Mbappe's hat-trick on Wednesday versus Manchester City raised his season total to 27 goals in 37 matches for Los Blancos, prompting Bellingham to commend his new teammate's influence this year.

"It's fantastic; you enter matches aware that he will make an impact if you pass him the ball," Bellingham said to TNT Sports following the win against City.

"You understand that when Kylian receives the ball in zones where he enjoys receiving it, he's going to pose a threat." Right foot, left foot, you witnessed the various types of goals today.

"It's truly amazing what he has accomplished in his career." I understand he began slowly and was adjusting to life here, but now he’s thriving, and it’s delightful to see.

Mbappe subsequently acknowledged that his period of adaptation had concluded and he promised to achieve significant success with Madrid.

"I aim to perform strongly here, I seek to leave an impression on the season," he stated. "I aspire to make history with Real Madrid." My adjustment phase is over, and it's time for me to demonstrate my abilities.

"It was an ideal evening for the group." Facing Manchester City is always a challenging match, but we were confident that we would be very tough to beat at home. We must proceed in this manner if we aim to achieve our goals this season.
