Two Manchester United transfer choices revealed by merciless Nottingham Forest after baffling £90m decisions

Manchester United’s decision to sell Anthony Elanga for £15m while rating Alejandro Garnacho at £70m illustrates the kind of errors that define their transfer missteps.  Manchester United are terrible at signings. That is no surprise. Their terrible history of post-Ferguson acquisitions is painfully familiar. But which Chelsea players stood out for the wrong reasons, and who, if anyone, emerged with credit? Our player ratings reveal all, as we dissect the Blues' dismal display."

Chelsea lost to Ipswich Town 2-0 at Portman Road on Monday, extending their losing streak to three games.

Ipswich had the opportunity to grab the lead early thanks to a contentious penalty. According to the ruling, Liam Delap was tripped by Filip Jorgensen. Delap quickly recovered and left the area, giving the home team the edge to defend.

Ten minutes into the second half, former Chelsea player Omari Hutchinson gave Ipswich a second goal against the flow of play, freeing up the rest of the game to concentrate on irritating their pricey visitors. Chelsea has dropped to fourth place in the Premier League standings after two straight losses, and when they play Brentford on Wednesday, Arsenal will have the opportunity to extend their lead to four points. The Blues are ten points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have also lost one game.

Chelsea's winless run extended to three games on Monday as they fell to a frustrating 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

A controversial penalty gave Ipswich the chance to take an early lead. Filip Jorgensen was deemed to have tripped Liam Delap, who dusted himself off and dispatched from the spot in emphatic fashion to give the hosts an advantage to defend.

Former Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson added a second for Ipswich against the run of play ten minutes into the second half, allowing Ipswich to focus on frustrating their expensive visitors for the remainder of play.

With two straight defeats, Chelsea find themselves down in fourth in the Premier League standings, with Arsenal able to increase their advantage to four points when they face Brentford on Wednesday. League leaders Liverpool, who have also played one game fewer, sit ten points ahead of the Blues.
